Bruno Giacosa
Langa, Italy
Bruno Giacosa, great connoisseur of the vineyards
of the Langa, is putting into practice an extremely
simple philosophy based on the respect of tradition,
both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
|
The production
is based on the wine-making of the Nebbiolo, Barbera,
Dolcetto, arneis e Pinot wines, that create the wines
Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera d´Alba and Dolcetto
d´Alba and white wines such as Roero Arneis and
Spumante Giacosa.

Mr Egon Müller Weingut Egon Müller
Scharzhof, Germany
Hailed as one of the finest vineyards in Germany.
So great is its fame, it remains one of the handful
of German vineyards, whose wines are sold without mention
of the village name! The first vineyard was likely
to be planted by the Romans.
|
From its founding
around 700 through the Middle ages, it belonged to
the monastery “St Marien ad Martyes” in
Trier. Presently, the quality of the wine is 100% made
in the vineyard. This favourite saying of the late
Egon Muller III remains as true as it ever was.

Mr Jean-Luc Pépin Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé
Chambolle-Musigny, France
Few estates in Burgundy have origins that date back as far as Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé.
Located in the heart of Chambolle-Musigny, the 31 acres
Domine (mostly Grand Crus), is one of the oldest in
Burgundy and has remained in the hands of the same
family, through inheritance and marriage, to the present
day.
|
Today, the vineyards and the cellars are respected as one of the brightest shining stars of Burgundy, continuing the Domaineís painstaking search for quality.

Mr Peter Sisseck Dominio de Pingus
Ribera del Duero, Spain
Dominio de Pingus is a very new and hugely successful winery in Ribera del Duero.
Run by a young, Danish-born renowned winemaker, Mr Peter Sisseck, the winery
has produced astonishing results in a very short period of time. Located in a
winery said by John Radford, Spanish wine expert, to resemble a pink flying saucer,
Pingus is part of an elite club of top Spanish wine producers. |
Yields are incredibly low, the wines are extremely concentrated, and allocation is miniscule. Crianza and Reserva wines are made from ancient, gnarled Tempranillo vines. Mr Sisseck is said to be a genius in the vineyard, where pruning has become an art form.

Mr Peter Vinding–Diers Tokaji Stanza
Tokaji, Hungary
Mr Peter Vinding-Diers, of Danish descent, has been a major force in the renaissance of Tokaji - a nectar unique in the world, capable of restoring life - over the past 15 years. A few years ago, Mr Vinding-Diers partnered with Mr Csaba Debreczeny, a member of one of Tokajiís oldest landowning families and created his own unique brand of Tokaji Stanza, based only on the most famous and legendary Tokaji wine of them all: the pure, unfermented and rich Eszencia. For hundreds of years, these pure Escenzias were kept exclusively for the private use of the rulers of Austria-Hungary and their inner circle because they were considered the Nectar of the Gods as a result of their healing and extraordinary powers. Tokaji Stanza will be featured at the Gala Dinner, featuring the cuisine of all guest chefs on 19th February 2005. |
